(ii) : How is the idea communicated? (describe what you see)
The idea is communicated by the same colour of the clothes people are wearing and the same kite playing acts seen in the photograph.
(b) Give TWO reasons why the person telling the story dreams of living in somebody else’s house? The hero was not happy with his sister and mother. He was embarrassed by his sister in front of their friends. His mother didn't take care of his feeling and laughed at him when he was embarrassed.
He doesn't like his own house which is a dirty and untidy home.
(c) Explain TWO ways the author conveys a sense of ‘not belonging’ in the extract
The girl really wanted to stay in the house as a member of the family. However, the reaction of the family was bad. The father turned off the TV, and the mother spoke in a hard voice. Also, the heroine had thought of getting adopted since she was 7 years old. It shows that the girl didn't like her family at all, so there was no sense of belonging conveyed in the story.
(d) Why did VicHealth develop the Together We Do Better campaign? Give TWO
reasons.
VicHealth develop the Together We Do Better campaign because they want to get people thinking and talking with friends, workmates and family about the personal and social benefits of belonging to a community, and of being accepted, respected and included. Also they want to let people feeling supported by social groups as well.
(e) Why does Dr Rob Moodie say “And it’s about starting small”?
Dr Moodie thinks it is ....
Starting small means it is easier and more simple to start from the small area of life, such as making daily conversation with parents, talking with neighbours, friends.
(f) Identify TWO persuasive techniques used in this press release. Explain the
effect of these techniques.
the writer uses results of research and statistics to persuade the readers to buy the ideas.
He also uses persuasive words,such as "social benefits", "better" and "we". Those words will make readers believe what the writer said is true.
